The 3 signs to look for
- A broken mane: short at the top, with tufts sticking up where the horse has rubbed.
- Dandruff at the roots: parting the mane with your fingers you see grey flakes and greasy skin.
- A «bottlebrush» tail: broken, ruffled hairs at the top of the tail.
We know them well: they're the signs we see on Alvin, our own horse.
Why it rubs
When the skin at the roots itches, a horse looks for relief against anything it can find. In summer, insects play their part; in winter, dandruff and skin soaked by rain. Every rub breaks hairs: that's why it pays to work on the skin, not just the hair.
How to use CutisON
- Shake the bottle.
- Mane and tail: part the hair with your fingers and give 1–2 sprays in jet mode onto the skin at the roots, section by section.
- Coat: mist from 10–15 cm onto the areas concerned.
- No rinsing needed: it's non-greasy and doesn't attract dust.
Why a jet spray and not an oil
Lotions and oils stay on the hair and struggle to reach the skin. The targeted jet slips between the hairs and reaches the skin at the roots without soaking the mane: that's why you can use it in winter too, in seconds.
Frequently asked questions
How often should I apply it?
1–2 times a day until the skin has settled, then 2–3 times a week to keep it that way.
What's inside?
Aloe vera, panthenol and bisabolol to calm irritated skin; neem oil to keep it clean; rice proteins to protect the hair from breakage. The bottle holds 250 ml.
Does it go with other products?
Yes. During insect season, with BioShield+: CutisON calms the skin, BioShield+ keeps away the insects that irritate it.
In winter, check the legs too: hooves and pasterns in the wet months. On the horse map tap «Mane and tail» and choose «It rubs and the mane gets damaged».
